About Pray EC
Pray East County, organized in 1992, is a group of pastors and Christian leaders who pray together for the good of the people of East Multnomah County, including the cities of Fairview, Gresham, Troutdale, Wood Village, Outer East Portland and surrounding communities.
What Is Our Purpose?
- To exalt Jesus Christ
- To bring healing and hope to leaders, churches, and our community
- To facilitate unity between Christians of all denominations
What Do We Do?
Meet regularly for prayer.
Visit and pray for civic leaders and for local pastors and churches, especially in times of need.
Support local events focused on proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ.
Monthly Prayer Luncheon
The first Thursday of each month, all pastors are invited to a free lunch at 12:00 p.m. at Grace Community Church, on 242nd south of Powell. We pray from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. No RSVP needed.
What Do We Value?
People: Everyone is to be treated with respect, love and compassion.
Prayer: We have been called to hear what God wants to do, and ask God to answer our prayers for lasting community change.
Truth: The good news of Jesus Christ, communicated in love, sets people free.
Unity: Because a house divided cannot stand, we pastors stand together in Christ, unified in the essentials, charitable in our differences.
Diversity: Our leadership is diverse in age, gender, culture and denomination.
Perseverance: Because our vision exceeds our grasp, by faith, we build relationships today for a better future.
We Pray That…
God’s Holy Spirit will be poured out on all people.
Everyone in our community will find reconciliation to God through Jesus Christ and live in peace with one another.
Churches work together for the good of all.
God is honored in public policy.
Food, shelter, medical care and education are available for all.
Violence, crime and immorality are reduced.
Marriages and families are restored and strengthened.
